What is the difference between ascites exudate and leakage fluid

The difference between ascites exudate and leakage fluid lies in the etiology, color, protein content and so on.
1. Etiology: Ascites exudate is commonly caused by bacterial infections, such as bacterial peritonitis, tuberculous peritonitis, etc., while leakage is commonly caused by gastrointestinal tumors, hypoproteinemia, abdominal cavity tumors, etc.
2. Color: the color of ascites exudate is usually turbid, while the color of leakage fluid is usually clear.
3. Protein content: the cell count of ascites exudate is usually less than 5 to the 10th power, and the amount of albumin is also less than 30 grams; whereas the number of leukocytes in the leakage fluid is greater than 5 to the 10th power, and the amount of albumin is also more than 30 grams.
It should be noted that when patients have ascites exudate or leakage fluid, they should go to the hospital for examination in time, and after clarifying the cause of the disease, treatment should be carried out under the guidance of doctors.
