How do you know if you’re diabetic?

The presence of diabetes mellitus can be determined from a combination of clinical manifestations, random blood glucose, fasting blood glucose, glucose tolerance test results and other aspects.
Diabetes mellitus can be diagnosed if there are typical clinical manifestations of diabetes mellitus such as polyphagia, polydipsia, polyuria, and weight loss, and if the random blood glucose is ≥11.1 mmol/L, or if the fasting blood glucose is ≥7.0 mmol/L, or if the blood glucose is ≥11.1 mmol/L at two hours after the glucose tolerance test.
Diabetes mellitus can also be diagnosed if there are no typical clinical signs of diabetes mellitus such as excessive eating, drinking, urinating, and weight loss, but random blood glucose ≥11.1 mmol/L or fasting blood glucose ≥7.0 mmol/L or blood glucose ≥11.1 mmol/L two hours after glucose tolerance test on a day other than the same day is measured.
If clinical signs of diabetes or abnormal blood glucose values are suspected, it is recommended to go to the hospital and ask a medical professional to make a judgment.
