What to eat with high blood sugar

Replacing white rice and pasta with whole grain cereals can be an effective way to control post-meal blood sugar.

In general, the finer the grain is processed, the faster it is absorbed and the higher its glycemic index.

The glycemic index of whole grains and cereals is relatively low, and replacing refined white rice and pasta with these foods as staple foods is more effective in controlling sugar. For example:

1. brown rice, oats, rye, corn, millet, buckwheat, barley, etc.;

2. red beans, mung beans, kidney beans, flower beans, etc.;

3. taro, yams, potatoes, sweet potatoes, etc.;

4. there are also some high starch vegetables and seeds, such as fresh lilies, chestnuts, pumpkins, peas, etc. These can be used to replace some of the white rice and white flour and are good quality staples for people with high blood sugar/diabetes.
