How long does radiation therapy last?

The time required for one session of radiotherapy depends mainly on the treatment modality and radiotherapy technique. Specific problems should be analyzed and no generalization should be made. Radiation therapy is divided into general radiation therapy, precision radiation therapy, conformal intensity-modulated radiation therapy, high-dose afterload therapy and adjuvant thermotherapy. Among them, ordinary radiation therapy uses fractionated radiation therapy method, and a course of treatment is arranged for 30 treatments, one time per day, and each treatment time is 2 minutes. In the case of precision radiotherapy, the pre-treatment pose takes 8-10 minutes, but the real treatment time is 1-2 minutes. In the case of treatment with the radiofrequency knife, the single treatment time is 30-40 minutes, but the overall length remains the same. Patients should also be aware that radiotherapy, although less absolutely contraindicated, is based on their condition. Patients suffering from acute inflammation and heart failure should undergo radiotherapy after their condition has been controlled.
