What’s wrong with a blackened gap in your teeth?

Darkening of the gaps between the teeth may be caused by physiological factors such as excessive smoking and tea drinking, or may be caused by diseases such as dental calculus and dental fluorosis.
1. Physiological factors: If you smoke for a long time, drink tea or black coffee, it may lead to pigmentation and darkening of the gaps between the teeth. If there are no other uncomfortable symptoms, it is a normal phenomenon.
2. Dental calculus: Dental calculus may be caused by improper diet, mineral deposition, plaque, soft tartar and other factors. Patients will mainly appear in the root surface under the gum margin, showing black or brown, and accompanied by bad breath, gums red, swollen, bleeding and other symptoms.
3. Dental fluorosis: Dental fluorosis may be caused by high intake of fluorine during the period of tooth development. Patients may experience darkening of the crevices of the teeth.
