In order to promote the academic exchange of knee joint replacement technology at home and abroad and strengthen the international cooperation between the two sides, Professor Schifrine, the Sigma Elite Lecturer of the famous Annecy General Clinic Joint Replacement Center in France, was invited to our hospital for academic exchange in the afternoon of August 27, 2012. Dr. Wang Kun, the chief physician of our hospital, led the team of joint trauma surgery to receive this visit. Professor Schifrine has been engaged in knee replacement for many years and has a high international influence on knee replacement and knee trauma. He has unique insights into difficult knee replacement procedures such as internal and external knee, stiff knee, extra-articular deformity, knee revision, etc. His surgical ideas are clear and smooth, and the long-term survival rate of the replaced joints is high. First, Prof. Schifrine gave an in-depth lecture on the key aspects of initial knee replacement surgery for junior surgeons, such as the amount of femoral tibial osteotomy, external rotation angle placement, ligament soft tissue balance, common surgical errors and other practical clinical issues. Prof. Schifrine then presented several typical cases of internal and external knee, stiff knee, and extra-articular deformity I osteotomy replacement and introduced the surgical techniques and reviews of key points. Finally, Prof. Schifrine gave a lecture on the difficult issues in knee replacement such as patellar trajectory and patellar height, which improved the understanding of the patients. The visit of Prof. Schifrine enhanced the understanding and friendship between our joint trauma surgery department and Annecy General Clinic joint replacement center in France, strengthened the exchange and cooperation between our department and the world-class knee replacement center, and laid a good foundation for the establishment of long-term and stable international cooperation and personnel exchange.
