Will spitting up yellow phlegm in the late stage of the flu get better on its own?

Spitting up yellow sputum in the late stage of the flu usually does not get better on its own and requires active treatment to make it heal. Spitting yellow sputum in the late stage of cold is mainly due to the decrease of body resistance and invasion of purulent bacteria, which causes congestion, edema and large amount of purulent secretion exuding from the mucous membrane of upper respiratory tract, and may even complicate bronchitis, which is a manifestation of disease aggravation. Patients can take drugs such as amoxicillin, amoxicillin and oral solution to control the inflammation in the body; they can also combine with nebulized inhalation for symptomatic treatment, and if necessary, take yellow sputum for bacterial culture and drug sensitivity test to select sensitive antibiotics for treatment. Avoid eating spicy and stimulating food, eat fresh vegetables and fruits in moderation, and drink more water to promote the excretion of body wastes and dilute phlegm to promote the healing of the disease.
