Do children need treatment for snoring in bed

Sleep disorders in children have been attracting attention in recent years, with the incidence of sleep disorders in children aged 1-6 years old at 23.45% in Beijing and 46.97% in Shanghai. The common sleep disorders in children include snoring, breath-holding, apnea, night terrors, insomnia and so on. These disorders not only lead to lack of sleep, but also affect children’s brain development. Snoring, commonly known as snoring, is one of the causes of sleep disorders. So what are the causes of snoring? It is important to know that the lymphoid tissue in the pharynx is at a growth spurt during childhood, and the airway becomes narrower and prone to infection. It is more accurate to say that the lymphatic tissue in the nasopharynx has a special name called pharyngeal tonsils, which is located at the top and back wall of the nasopharynx and slowly shrinks with age and disappears when one grows up to be an adult. When it does not become infected, its presence is ignored. However, if it becomes enlarged due to multiple infections and inflammation during childhood, it becomes hyperplasia. The enlarged proliferator obstructs the flow of air in the nasal cavity, forcing the child to breathe with his or her mouth open, which manifests itself as snoring during sleep and, in severe cases, as ear-splitting snoring. Because of the blocked nose, these children speak with a nasal sound and have a slurred speech; the blocked nose also affects eating. The enlarged proliferators may obstruct the excretion of nasopharyngeal secretions, block the eustachian tube, and affect the ventilation and drainage of the middle ear, which in turn affects the child’s hearing. The clinical result of a non-ventilated nose and prolonged open-mouth breathing can result in a proliferative face. These children present with; open mouth breathing, collapsed nasal roots, atrophy of the nose, thick lips, shallow nasolabial folds, short and upturned upper lip, protruding exposed upper incisors, stupid face and lack of expression. This is due to a prolonged lack of proper treatment and a delayed condition.
