Is the hib vaccine necessary?

The hib vaccine is the most effective way to prevent Haemophilus influenzae type b infection in infants and young children. The hib vaccine induces the body to produce antibodies against Haemophilus influenzae type b podoconjugate polysaccharide to protect babies from hib germs. Haemophilus influenzae has a strong invasive effect and can even cause death, which is very harmful, and hib vaccination is currently the most effective measure to prevent hib infection. The Hib vaccine is not part of the national program and is self-paying, so it is not mandatory for everyone to receive it. Vaccination is recommended for children between 2 and 17 months of age who are immunocompromised. However, vaccination should be postponed in children with acute severe febrile illnesses, and those with known allergies to any component of the vaccine, especially tetanus toxoid, or those with previous hib vaccine allergies should not be vaccinated. Haemophilus influenzae can be transmitted by air and droplets, and children under 5 years of age, especially infants and children aged 2 months-2 years, are easily infected, and the infection can cause pneumonia, sepsis, inflammatory myelitis and many other diseases, which can endanger the health of babies, but if parents do not find it in time and delay the best treatment time it can cause harm to health, so they should pay attention to timely prevention. However, there are also some adverse reactions to vaccination, which varies from person to person. It is better to go to a regular place to vaccinate your baby according to the doctor’s advice.
