How many weeks is full term

During a woman’s pregnancy, the gestational week is calculated as 7 days as a week and 4 weeks as a month, usually full term pregnancy means 40 weeks, but as long as the pregnancy reaches 37 weeks, the pregnancy is considered full term. After 37 weeks of gestation and up to 42 weeks of gestation is considered full-term pregnancy, after 42 weeks is called overdue pregnancy, full 28 weeks and less than 37 weeks is preterm delivery. Usually, the fetus is basically mature when it reaches 37 weeks of gestation and weighs more than 2500g. However, after full term, the amniotic fluid in the abdomen will decrease significantly, so it is recommended that pregnant women pay attention to counting fetal movements to avoid fetal ischemia and hypoxia in the uterine cavity. Pregnant women who have reached full term need to prepare for delivery in advance, and if the due date is early or delayed, they need to go to the hospital for examination in time. When there are signs of early rupture of the amniotic fluid or redness, you should go to the obstetrics and gynecology department of the hospital to wait for delivery in time to prevent accidents.
