Why is it important to treat perianal abscesses promptly?

Perianal abscess is an acute purulent infectious disease occurring around the anus, anal canal and rectum, which is a bacterial infection and is the predecessor of anal fistula. It is one of the three major anal diseases along with anal fistula, with an incidence rate of about 2%, accounting for 8% to 25% of anal diseases. It is mostly seen in men aged 20 to 40 years old, and the incidence is 3 to 4 times higher in men than in women, and the incidence is also relatively high in children. Perianal abscesses should be treated seriously after they occur. The most dangerous abscesses occur in the sciatic rectal fossa and pelvic rectal fossa on both sides of the anus and in the subperineal fascia on the anterior side of men. With perianal abscess, if the abscess delays early surgical treatment, there are four main dangers to the human body. 1, infection and pus Once formed, anal fistula has very little chance of healing itself and brings a series of hazards. The first anal fistula infection inflammation, anal pain is intense, ulcerated pus contamination of underwear, pus stimulation of local skin, anal itching intense. The more frequent the attacks are, the more frequent they will be, forming a mutual cause and effect. The fistula is repeated several times, the pus can penetrate the wall and spread along the sphincter gap to become multiple, complex anal fistula, which not only brings difficulties to treatment, but also affects the physiological function of the anus. 3, the risk of cancer, the multiplicity of anal fistula, can form rectovaginal fistula, rectal urethral fistula and rectal bladder fistula, endangering the surrounding organs, and years of untreated or mistreated old anal fistula may be cancerous. 4, anal incontinence Allowing the development of anal fistula can cause serious damage to the sphincter, and may even cause complications such as anal incontinence. These are the reasons why perianal abscesses should be operated in time, and I hope patients should pay attention to them. Prevention is the best strategy for treating anal abscess, and the following are prevention methods: 1. actively exercise, enhance physical fitness, improve blood circulation, strengthen local resistance to disease, and prevent infection. 2.Keeping the anus clean, changing underwear regularly and insisting on washing the anus after stool every day have positive effects on preventing infection. 3.Actively prevent and treat other anal diseases, such as anal cryptitis and anal papillitis, to avoid perianal abscess and anal fistula. 4.Treat systemic diseases that can cause perianal abscesses, such as ulcerative colitis and intestinal tuberculosis, in a timely manner. 5.Don’t sit on the wet ground for a long time to avoid cold and moisture in the anal area, which may cause infection. 6.Preventing constipation and diarrhea is important to prevent the formation of perianal abscess and anal fistula. 7.Once perianal abscess occurs, it should be treated early to prevent spreading and diffusion.
