The most common cause of pneumothorax in adolescents is the occurrence of idiopathic pneumothorax, which can be seen in adolescents with taller, leaner and longer body types, who usually do not have a history of respiratory problems, but have subpleural pulmonary blisters, which can form a pneumothorax once they rupture. Third, sharp-edged stab wounds may also lead to pneumothorax, gunshot wounds or diagnostic medical operations, which may also cause the occurrence of pneumothorax. Fourth, secondary pneumothorax, but relatively rare in adolescents, such as chronic bronchitis, bronchial asthma caused by obstructive pulmonary disease, may also lead to the occurrence of pneumothorax.
