Difference between thyroid adenoma and thyroid nodule

The difference between thyroid adenoma and thyroid nodule is as follows: 1. Thyroid adenoma: The thyroid gland is located on both sides of the laryngeal nodes. Thyroid adenoma is usually round, with a smooth surface and an intact envelope, and can be found with swallowing movements, mostly in young and middle-aged women; 2. Thyroid nodule: It is a lump in the thyroid gland, which can belong to benign nodules or malignant tumors, or can be caused by immune system diseases or inflammation. After thyroid adenoma and nodules of the thyroid gland are found, it is recommended to go to the hospital for further examination. Ultrasound examination is mainly performed because it has less side effects and higher accuracy than CT examination for thyroid diagnosis and can observe blood flow and calcification, while CT, X-rays and other radioactive examinations can damage the thyroid gland. In addition patients need to undergo thyroid function tests to further clarify the diagnosis.
