Causes of peritoneal effusion

A peritoneal effusion is mainly produced by organs in the abdomen under the influence of pathological factors such as exudative tissue fluid, leaky fluid, hemorrhagic effusion, and several other types of fluid. It is usually caused by cirrhosis of the liver, venous obstruction, bacterial infection, and organ rupture. If the amount of peritoneal fluid is large, early medical treatment is recommended.

There are many reasons why a pneumoperitoneum can occur. There are also many different types of pneumoperitoneum. The main clinical categories are as follows.

1. Diseases such as cirrhosis of the liver can cause hypoproteinemia in the body. Too little albumin in the blood can cause tissue fluid to leak out and accumulate in the abdominal cavity.

2. Malignant tumors of the abdominal cavity can also cause hypoproteinemia and result in fluid accumulation in the abdominal cavity.

3, Some patients have bacterial infections in the abdominal tissues and organs, such as acute appendicitis, acute cholecystitis and other purulent bacterial infections can also cause leakage of tissue fluid in the abdominal cavity.

4. There are also some patients with traumatic splenic rupture. There is a lot of blood in the spleen, and a ruptured spleen can cause a lot of blood to flow into the abdominal cavity.

5. The rupture of the fallopian tubes due to ectopic pregnancy can also cause a large amount of blood to flow from the abdominal cavity.

6. Some patients with gastrointestinal disease are affected by disease or trauma and perforation. This can also cause fluid in the intestines and stomach to flow into the abdominal cavity causing fluid accumulation.
