How to correct temporomandibular joint disorder

Temporomandibular joint disorders can be categorized into four groups, masticatory muscle disorders, joint structure disorders, inflammatory disorders and osteoarthropathies, which are treated with physical therapy, closure or surgery depending on the condition. 1. Masticatory muscle disorder. Masticatory muscle disorders are mainly to release muscle spasm, which can be treated by localized physiotherapy, lidocaine closure, and localized moist and hot compresses. 2. Joint structure disorder. Depending on the severity, it can be treated with moist hot compresses, the use of occlusal plates, intra-articular injection of sodium hyaluronate, and arthroscopic surgery. 3. Inflammatory diseases. Analgesic drugs, such as diclofenac sodium tablets, joint cavity irrigation or arthroscopic surgery can be taken under the guidance of physicians. 4. Osteoarthrosis. Osteoarthrosis has organic destruction of joints, and the treatment can be open surgery to repair or remove the joint disk. Temporomandibular joint disorders need to be treated in a timely manner in the hospital to avoid aggravation of symptoms triggering organic lesions.
