Cavernous sclerosis of the penis is usually in the penile area, not the foreskin.
Patients with cavernous sclerosis of the penis, also known as sclerodactyly, usually have a painful erection or an erect penis that takes on a curved shape and does not stretch in the early stages. Usually it is on the dorsal aspect of the distal 1/3 of the penis, one or more subcutaneous sclerosis can be observed, in case of more than one sclerosis, it can show up as a string of beads, but usually it is not on the foreskin.
The etiology of penile sclerosis is unclear, and may be related to trauma, excessive and frequent masturbation, heredity, chronic infectious diseases, diabetes mellitus, and vitamin E deficiency. It is recommended that when patients observe penile sclerosis, they should consult a doctor for timely examination and standardized treatment under doctor’s guidance after diagnosis.
