What are the considerations for assisted reproduction cycles

Complications such as ovarian hyperstimulation, ovarian torsion, and ectopic pregnancy can occur during and after assisted reproductive treatment. The initial symptoms of ovarian hyperstimulation are nausea, abdominal distention, and abdominal enlargement and dyspnea. Symptoms of ovarian torsion are severe abdominal pain. Symptoms of ectopic pregnancy are abdominal pain, vaginal bleeding and fainting due to internal bleeding, which can be life-threatening. In case of the above symptoms and other discomforts, please contact your supervising doctor for timely management. After completing the assisted reproduction treatment, the medical staff should follow up with you. The stages of follow-up are as follows: i. Urine or blood HCG should be measured about 16 days after IUI or egg retrieval to know if there is biochemical pregnancy. If the test result is positive, it should be reported to the doctor in charge in time for luteal support to avoid miscarriage. If pregnant, come to the department for ultrasound monitoring about 35 days after IUI or egg retrieval to determine the number of embryos, their development and the presence of ectopic pregnancy. 3. After the second follow-up visit to determine pregnancy, come to the hospital’s Prevention and Protection Department 70 days after IUI or egg retrieval to establish a pregnancy health card for regular pregnancy care. 4. Come to our department for ultrasound examination four months after artificial insemination or egg retrieval to understand the development of the fetus. V. The baby should be informed of its sex, birth weight and any abnormalities at birth. VI. It is recommended to give feedback on the growth and development of children born with assisted reproductive technology at any time. Through follow-up visits, we can keep abreast of complications and embryonic and fetal development in the process of assisted reproductive technology and give timely guidance.
