Can tennis elbow heal on its own without treatment?

Tennis elbow can heal on its own for some patients with mild symptoms with rest and avoiding strenuous elbow activities, but recovery is slow. For patients with more severe symptoms, systematic treatment is required to cure the disease. There are many treatment options for tennis elbow, including conservative treatment and surgery. Regardless of the treatment, a certain amount of time is needed for recovery. If conservative treatment is used, the patient will need to be treated with medication, physical therapy, and local closure, such as anti-inflammatory medication for pain relief, followed by symptomatic treatment. If surgical treatment is used, patients can use invasive treatment methods such as small needle knife and arthroscopic surgical treatment methods. During treatment, patients should pay more attention to not overexerting themselves and avoid overworking the elbow. When carrying things, they can choose appropriate labor-saving tools, such as a wheelbarrow. Patients with tennis elbow also need to strengthen nutrition, consume more food containing trace elements, eat more vegetables and fruits to ensure sufficient intake of vitamins to facilitate the recovery of the disease.
