Ulnar nerve injuries usually recover in a few months

The recovery time of ulnar nerve injury is mainly related to the severity of the injury, the treatment and the individual condition of the patient, so specific analysis should be made. After the nerve is damaged, different degrees of degeneration and necrosis will occur, and it needs to recover gradually from the proximal end to the distal end, and it can only recover about 1-3㎜ per day. If the ulnar nerve injury is caused by nerve contusion, the nerve fiber is not completely broken, and the degree of injury is relatively mild, and it can be effectively recovered in about 1 month in general. If the nerve is broken, the patient needs to undergo surgical anastomosis, and the nerve will grow again, and the healing time is longer, at least 3 months. During the recovery period, patients need to reduce local activities, and can follow the doctor’s prescription to take oral nerve nutrition or blood activation and swelling drugs, which can help promote the growth and repair of the nerve.
