Must read for post-operative follow-up review of thyroid cancer

1.How soon after surgery is the first review? Generally speaking, the first review is 4 weeks (one month) after surgery. This is because this is when your TSH level reaches a stable level after the initial dose of eugenol you took. At this time, you can decide whether you need to adjust the dosage of Eugenol according to your condition. 2.How can I adjust the dosage of Eugenol (L-Thyroxine tablets) after surgery? During the dosage adjustment phase of Eugenol (L-T4), TSH should be measured every 4 weeks or so, and thyroid function should be rechecked every 2-3 months for 1 year, every 3-6 months for 2 years, and every 6-12 months for 5 years after reaching the standard to make sure that TSH is maintained within the target range. 3.What tests and items are usually done during outpatient review? Generally speaking, the review includes thyroid function tests (5 items of thyroid function, FT3, FT4, TSH, TGA, TMA) and ultrasound of the neck (thyroid gland and lymph nodes in the neck). 4. What is the frequency of review? That is, how often should I be reviewed? The follow-up period should be regular (3 to 12 months apart), in conjunction with the TSH adjustment cycle. In general, the follow-up period can be extended as time passes.
