Can you get out of the hospital right away with appendicitis?

Usually, patients with appendicitis are not discharged from the hospital right away, and through treatment, they do not appear until they meet the criteria for discharge. The length of hospitalization is usually around 3 to 10 days, depending on the patient’s treatment plan. After the hospitalization of patients with appendicitis, if conservative treatment is taken, through dietary restrictions, input of antibiotics (injectable penicillin, levofloxacin, etc.), rehydration, etc., the general treatment is about 7 to 10 days, the basic situation is stabilized, the pain disappears, and the patient can be discharged from the hospital. If surgical treatment measures are taken, there are two main types of surgery: laparoscopic minimally invasive appendectomy and open appendectomy. Patients with laparoscopic minimally invasive appendectomy can be discharged from the hospital at the notice of about 3 to 5 days after the operation when the basic condition is good. Patients with open appendectomy need to have their wounds removed before they are discharged and are usually hospitalized for about 7 to 10 days. Therefore, patients with appendicitis are usually not discharged immediately and need to meet the discharge criteria before they can go home.
