Do you have to remove the uterus for multiple fibroids?

Uterine fibroids are the most common benign tumors in women, with an incidence rate of about 30%. The common symptoms are heavy menstrual flow and even anemia. The appearance of symptoms depends mainly on the location and size of the tumor in the uterus. 1.When to choose surgery? If the above symptoms appear, or the tumor is obviously enlarged during the follow-up, and malignancy is suspected. Or the tumor is already very large. 2.What kind of surgery should be chosen? There are two options, open surgery and minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. However, for multiple fibroids, laparoscopy can’t nucleate the tumor, so you may choose open surgery, and all the tumors that can be seen can be removed. 3.Is it necessary to remove the uterus for multiple fibroids? According to the patient’s needs, we will decide how to choose the surgery according to the age of the patient. For example, in a recent case of multiple fibroids, the patient was 40 years old, unmarried, had multiple fibroids and insisted on preserving her uterus. In conclusion, although uterine fibroids are common, they should be treated humanely and individually, not just hysterectomy, but the less damage to the patient, the better.
