How often to clean your teeth

The frequency of dental cleaning for normal people is recommended to be carried out once every six months or a year, and the specific frequency can be chosen in conjunction with the oral health condition. In daily life, if plaque is not cleaned properly for a long time, it will not only cause mineral deposits on the surface of the teeth, but also breed bacteria and harmful microorganisms in the mouth, increasing the risk of tooth decay, periodontitis, gingivitis and other diseases. Regular scaling treatment can better remove bacteria, pigments, calculus and other substances attached to periodontal tissues, maintain the aesthetic appearance of the teeth and prevent oral system diseases at the same time. However, the time interval between scaling should not be too short. This is because during the scaling treatment, some patients may have adverse symptoms such as widened gaps, bleeding gums, soreness and tenderness in the mouth. Therefore, the frequency of scaling is generally not recommended to be too frequent, every six months or once a year is enough to prevent enhancing the patient’s discomfort, but affect the oral health status. It should be noted that dental scaling treatment, for oral system diseases can only play a preventive effect, if there are other oral system diseases, still need to timely to the hospital for symptomatic treatment.
