Baby diarrhea usually takes a few days to return to normal stool

It usually takes 7-10 days for normal stools to resume in babies with diarrhea, depending on the cause of the diarrhea, the severity of the disease and the individual’s constitution, and there are individual differences. In the case of viral diarrhea caused by viral infection, it is generally self-limiting and can resume normal stools in about 7 days. During diarrhea, parents need to pay attention to give their babies more warm water or rice soup to replenish water to avoid dehydration; if the diarrhea is bacterial infection, the symptoms can generally return to normal in 7 days for mild cases. If the diarrhea is serious, it may last for more than 10 days before it returns to normal, and the exact time varies from person to person, and antibiotics and other medications are needed. During diarrhea, parents need to take better care of the baby, pay attention to keeping the baby’s abdomen warm, and avoid letting the baby eat cold, greasy and spicy stimulating foods.
