If the vulva is itchy and the discharge has an odor and feels moist, it is often due to bacterial vaginosis. In clinical practice, it is most commonly an infection with Gardnerella bacteria, which results in a very fishy vaginal discharge and an increase in the amount of discharge, occasionally accompanied by vulvar itching. It is recommended to check the white belt routine and give treatment according to the result. It is also important to rule out the possibility of localized cervical lesions, so screening for cervical cancer can be done if necessary. In case of bacterial vaginosis, it can be treated clinically by inserting metronidazole suppositories into the vagina and taking metronidazole tablets orally for 3-5 days, and after meals. Sexual intercourse is not allowed during the medication period.
