How many days from rash onset to recovery from rubella

It takes an average of 3 days for a person with rubella to recover from the rash, hence the name “three-day rash”. Rubella is an infection caused by the rubella virus, which generally has a long incubation period, and patients may be infected for 2-3 weeks before symptoms begin to appear. The initial manifestation is a fever, which usually does not exceed 39 degrees Celsius, with swollen lymph nodes behind the ears and in the neck, as well as a cough, runny nose and general malaise. Patients usually develop a rash 1-2 days after the onset of fever, first on the head and face, and then spreading to the whole body. The rash resolves in the same order as the rash. There are no specific medications for rubella, but symptomatic treatment is sufficient. It is also important to note that rubella in the first trimester of pregnancy may cause fetal malformations or developmental delays. Therefore, women who are preparing for pregnancy or in the early stages of pregnancy should pay attention to protection from infection and may also choose to receive rubella vaccination in advance, consulting with a preventive health care provider for the exact timing of the vaccination.
