Common causes of upset stomach after eating something too spicy include acute gastric mucosal lesions, gastritis, and peptic ulcer. Relief can be provided by food, physical and drug therapies.
1. If acute gastric mucosal lesions, dietary modifications can be made such as avoiding spicy and stimulating foods, and consuming mild foods such as milk and soy milk. Physical therapy includes proper stomach massage and keeping the abdomen warm. Pharmacological therapy has omeprazole, magnesium aluminum carbonate and other acid suppression, gastric mucosa protection drugs, need to be taken under the guidance of a doctor.
2. If for acute and chronic gastritis, the use of rabeprazole, cimetidine, aluminum hydroxide and other drugs can ease the discomfort, if necessary, can check whether the Helicobacter pylori infection.
3. If the patient has peptic ulcer, oral lansoprazole, aluminum hydroxide and bismuth can relieve stomach discomfort.
If the patient continues to have stomach discomfort, accompanied by obvious abdominal pain, not excluding the combination of bleeding or perforation, should immediately go to the hospital to avoid aggravation of the condition.
