What does CRRT treatment volume mean?

The therapeutic volume of CRRT is the amount of replacement fluid used per unit of time, usually expressed as fluid replacement per kilogram of body weight per hour, which varies clinically depending on the treatment modality. Usually for renal replacement therapy a treatment volume of 20-30 ml/(kg-h) is used, while for patients with acute tubular necrosis combined with sepsis, a somewhat larger treatment volume is often used. The volume of treatment can be adjusted according to the patient’s specific situation during treatment, with the aim of removing toxins and benefiting the patient as soon as possible.
