How long does it take for a low lying placenta to heal itself

There is no specific time for how long it takes for a pregnancy with placenta previa to resolve itself. Placenta hypoplasia is a condition in which the placenta is attached to the lower segment of the uterus until 28 weeks, with the edges closer to the endocervical opening. As the weeks of pregnancy increase and the lower part of the uterus lengthens, the placenta may slowly move away from the cervical opening and thus appear to heal itself. However, in some cases, after 28 weeks of pregnancy, the placenta remains at the edge of or covers the cervical opening, and placenta praevia occurs. Placenta previa cannot be improved with certain treatments, but only with the increase of pregnancy weeks and regular checkups to observe the distance of the placenta from the cervical opening. If the edge of the placenta is far from the cervical opening after 28 weeks of pregnancy, there is nothing to worry about. If the edge of the placenta reaches or covers the cervical opening, consider placenta praevia. If placenta praevia occurs in late pregnancy, you need to pay extra attention to it. If you have vaginal bleeding or abdominal pain, you need to consult a doctor and take care of it under the doctor’s guidance.
