Children with fever and cold hands and feet how to do

The fever process can be divided into three stages, the period of rising body temperature, the period of sustained high fever and the period of fever reduction. When a child has a fever, the central body temperature rises, but the hands and feet can be cold, and some children even have chills, is in the rising temperature period, because the pediatric nervous system is not well developed, the nerves responsible for vasoconstriction and diastole are prone to dysfunction, resulting in small blood vessels at the ends of the limbs in a state of spasmodic contraction, so the hands and feet are cold. When children have cold hands and feet when they have a fever, it indicates that the peripheral circulation is poor, so they should pay attention to the peripheral warmth, put on more clothes accordingly, put on socks for them, rub their hands and feet warm, rub them with warm water or soak their feet to improve the peripheral circulation, or take a warm bath if the room temperature is suitable. This stage does not last long, it indicates that the child’s body temperature is rising, and usually high fever occurs after 1 to 2 hours. After the hands and feet turn warm, the child enters the high fever stage. Parents should pay attention to closely monitor the change of body temperature, remove extra clothes or coverings to facilitate heat dissipation, and not wrap too tightly or wear too much to prevent the body temperature from rising even higher. Fever is a common symptom in children, the cause of fever is different, the treatment is also different, parents should pay attention to observe, the situation is serious to go to the hospital in a timely manner.
