What kind of people should be screened for stomach cancer?

China is second only to Japan as a region with high incidence of gastric cancer. Experts warn that high-risk people should not be afraid of gastroscopy and it is better to check gastroscopy no more than once every three years, so that many gastric cancer patients have already progressed to the middle stage once they are found. So what kind of people should have gastric cancer examination? If you have problems such as feeling stomach discomfort or pain, loss of appetite, weight loss, etc., it is better to check gastroscopy, which is a necessary test to confirm the diagnosis of stomach cancer. Other diagnostic methods include imaging tests (such as CT, MRI, barium meal, etc.), laboratory tests, etc. However, it is not necessary for everyone to have frequent gastroscopy. In addition to those who have the above mentioned symptoms and should have gastroscopy in time, the following high-risk groups should have gastroscopy once every three years: those with family history (including those with digestive system tumors), those with chronic gastric ulcer and other diseases and combined with H. pylori infection, those with bad habits of smoking and drinking, those with bad dietary habits (such as those who eat high salt and pickled food, those who consume hot food, moldy food, and those who consume high salt and pickled food for a long time). Those who consume hot food, moldy food and food with high gastric irritation for a long time), and those whose food and water sources are contaminated. Currently, one out of every five gastric cancer patients is HER2-positive, and such patients have more aggressive disease, shorter survival period and poor prognosis. Therefore, patients diagnosed with gastric cancer should be tested for HER2 as needed to detect and reduce mortality in a timely manner.
