Is there any benefit to insomnia?

Insomnia has benefits? When you read this topic, many people can’t help but be full of questions, and some of them may even scold me: insomnia makes people upset and exhausted, and you still say there are benefits, it’s just nonsense. People are evolved higher animals and their reactions and actions in any situation have a positive meaning, it just depends on whether you discover it or not. For example, if you have a fever, many people are busy trying to reduce the fever, not knowing that fever is the means by which the body mobilizes its immunity and suppresses and destroys germs, which means that the growth and reproduction of germs in the case of fever is much slower than normal body temperature. Coughing, for example, is an unpleasant condition that affects many people around us, but it does help us expel germs and keep our breathing smooth. The same goes for insomnia, which always has a positive effect on people. Very few people come to the doctor just because of poor sleep. If you think about it, what’s the need to see a doctor if you don’t sleep well and you don’t have any other discomfort? What’s wrong with having more time to do your own thing, more time to enjoy your life, more time to do whatever you want? However, usually, insomnia patients who come to the clinic usually have a lot of other discomforts, such as: fatigue and weakness, headache and dizziness all day, lack of concentration, memory loss, and so on. Then, as a matter of course, these symptoms are blamed on insomnia. As a result, insomnia becomes the “scapegoat”. Is this the case? Let’s analyze it. The causes of insomnia are so numerous that a book could be written about them, but there are usually three. First, insomnia can be associated with physical illnesses such as hyperthyroidism, stomach ulcers, cardiac insufficiency, and asthma. In these cases, insomnia allows us to stay alert and awake and to communicate our discomfort and changes to our doctors and other friends and family in a timely manner so that our condition does not deteriorate dramatically. Second, psychiatric disorders such as depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and anxiety disorders can also be associated with insomnia to varying degrees. These disorders are shameful and difficult to talk about in Chinese eyes, and this is when insomnia makes its appearance and gives the patient an opportunity to seek medical attention. More often than not, the “everyday confusion” of work stress, relationship tensions, and environmental changes are the culprits of insomnia. But these things often seem to most people to be related to their own faces and abilities, and people are often reluctant to admit the existence of these situations, and spend their days worrying and suffering and having trouble sleeping and eating. People regard all these worries and miseries as caused by insomnia, reversing the cause-effect relationship and distracting their attention to achieve temporary peace; or use this as an excuse to add up all the discomforts, which all become the by-product of insomnia, and say to others “I am sick, I have insomnia”, and then avoid going to the doctor, taking a few pills, or even staying in the hospital for a few days, thinking that they can get rid of it. A few days, thinking that everything will be all right, everything will be fine, leaving behind the confusion. This is a big mistake. So, it is with insomnia that we find the cause of our troubles, that we save face, and that we are not underestimated by others. Without insomnia, we would be more troubled, and we would spend our days in anxiety. Knowing these circumstances, we should reassess insomnia, reassess its relationship with disease, reacquaint ourselves with the effects it brings to people, and rethink the benefits it brings to us, so that we will not be afraid of insomnia and will be able to take it in stride. Don’t rush to work on insomnia. “Drinking hot milk”, “washing your feet with hot water”, “counting sheep” will not solve the root of the problem, but will remind us that we may have insomnia and that we should prepare for it early. Instead, they remind us that insomnia may occur and that we should prepare for it early. The treatment of insomnia should focus on the root cause, treating the original disease, while improving their psychological quality, improving their ability to deal with things, and better adapt to society. Of course, you can see a doctor if you really need to, but make sure you see a specialist!
