A small bump on the inside of the side of the neck is more commonly known as an enlarged lymph node. There are many causes of swollen lymph nodes. There are simple hyperplasia, inflammatory hyperplasia, possibly tuberculous lesions, lymphoma, and some may be metastatic malignant tumors. Therefore, if lymph nodes are suspected, it is recommended to do ultrasound first for further basic judgment to see what the nature is. If the ultrasound is not clear, further lymph node removal and biopsy are needed. Then, according to the pathological results, the corresponding treatment should be carried out. There may also be some lipomas and sebaceous cysts inside the side of the neck. If it is a cortical lipoma, it is usually painless, and sebaceous cysts sometimes have a fluctuating sensation when touched on the surface. In the case of sebaceous glands and lipomas, many times they can be removed through outpatient surgery. There are also cases of abnormal vascular masses, which also require further determination by ultrasound or CT.
