Does blood in the stool necessarily mean hemorrhoids?

Blood in the stool is not necessarily hemorrhoids, but the greatest chance is that they are. If a patient’s blood in the stool is bright red bleeding and presents as painless bleeding, it is usually due to the presence of internal hemorrhoids. If the patient’s blood in the stool is accompanied by severe pain and constipation, and the bleeding is small and often shows up as stained blood from hand towels, this is usually due to an anal fissure. If the patient has dark red bleeding in the stool, an increase in the number of bowel movements, a feeling of incompleteness of the anus, a feeling of urgency, and a loss of weight, this is often suspected to be due to a malignant tumor of the rectum or colon. In addition, if the blood in the stool is only blood in the stool, it may be due to the presence of rectal polyps, which may also be manifested as this simple blood in the stool.
