High platelets can usually be retested once a week later. The half-life of platelets is around 5~7 days, so you can go for a retest after the half-life. The main function of platelets is to participate in hemostasis, reflecting the body’s hemostatic function. Higher platelets are more common in infections, autoimmune diseases, blood diseases such as myeloproliferative diseases, primary thrombocythemia, and early stage of chronic granulocytic leukemia. Mild thrombocytosis is most commonly seen clinically in women with iron deficiency anemia, but generally platelets do not exceed 450 x 10^9/L. If platelets exceed 450 x 10^9/L, further bone marrow aspiration is usually required. If the platelet is higher than 450×10^9/L, it is recommended to go to the regular hospital to improve the relevant examination, under the guidance of the doctor to receive professional diagnosis and treatment, the patient should not be self-diagnosis and treatment in order to avoid delaying the condition.
