What does alkd5f3 negative mean?

Negative ALKD5F3 indicates that lung non-small cell carcinoma patients with negative expression of mesenchymal lymphoma kinase protein cannot be treated with targeted drugs such as crizotinib, alectinib and ceritinib.

ALKD5F3 is a kind of immunohistochemical method of ALK gene detection for mesenchymal lymphoma kinase protein, which is mainly used to detect whether patients with non-small cell carcinoma of lung have mesenchymal lymphoma kinase protein gene mutation or fusion, if ALKD5F3 is negative, it means that there is no mesenchymal lymphoma kinase protein gene alteration, and it is unsuitable to use the gene-targeted drugs, such as crizotinib, seretinib and so on.

ALKD5F3 positive indicates that the tumor patient exists mesenchymal lymphoma kinase protein gene fusion or mutation, need to be regulated under the guidance of the doctor to use gene-targeted drug therapy.
