Acyclovir cream is not effective for filiform warts. Acyclovir cream can inhibit the growth of the virus after the filiform warts have been removed by laser.
Most patients do not have clinical symptoms, if there is a skin elevation of filiform warts, most of the manifestation of a centimeter-long small grains of flesh upside down on the surface of the skin, may subside on their own, generally do not need treatment. For larger areas of people treatment is based on physical therapy, such as electrocautery, laser treatment.
Acyclovir is mainly used for herpes simplex or shingles infections. Mild pain, burning, tingling, itching, and rash are seen after use. It is contraindicated in people who are allergic to the drug. Use with caution in pregnant and lactating women. Note that the product is used only on the mucous membranes of the skin, not on the eyes. Gloves should be worn when applying the drug.
Acyclovir ointment is not indicated for the treatment of filiform warts, which may not be effective if only this product is used, and may inhibit the growth of the virus if applied to the wound after physical therapy.
Filiform warts are recommended to seek medical attention if the symptoms are obvious and cannot be relieved, so as not to delay the condition.
