Meniscus injury

Patient: Hello, doctor! Two years ago, I accidentally twisted my knee while playing basketball, and I was able to walk for a month without any symptoms, and I was able to play basketball. Last summer when fishing accidentally slipped, this time more serious, the original only feel the inside of the knee discomfort, this time both inside and outside are uncomfortable. I slipped outward and couldn’t get up at that time. I went to the hospital for emergency treatment and got better with a little pushing and kneading. I didn’t care about it, but later I often twisted and turned the crossover cord, and it got better and worse. On the advice of the doctor, I had an MRI in November 2009, but the doctor’s description of the film made me wonder what to do, some said it was fine, rest would be fine, some said it should be removed, some said it should be sutured, I don’t know what to do! Now it’s easy to twist, sit on a bench for a long time to feel the knee hard, walk like a gear with a giggling feeling, now, in can walk! There is no big problem, but my right leg has become thinner by 2cm Please give me a look at what I should do? And I don’t know what to do when I graduate from college this year and am looking for a job? Is my meniscus torn or crushed? What should I do now? Will the meniscus be damaged by walking? Orthopedic surgeon: Your MRI film does not have a coronal scan, so I’m not sure about the diagnosis. In addition, the lateral meniscus level is not visible on the film and it is not possible to determine if there is damage. It is recommended that you find a local joint surgeon or an experienced sports medicine physician for a professional clinical examination, which will determine the presence or absence of cruciate ligament injury and the presence or absence of medial collateral ligament injury, which is critical to your treatment. Patient: Thank you for your reply. I graduated from college this year and now I am busy writing my thesis and some chores in my life that require walking, will it be bad for my knee? Will the meniscus wear out? Orthopedic surgeon: Meniscus damage will definitely damage the articular cartilage, but this damage is a slow process that accumulates over time, that is, if you need arthroscopic surgery, it is not an emergency surgery, you can choose the right time and choose the right doctor for the surgery. I would also advise you that treatment should not be delayed indefinitely either.
