The ketogenic diet is a treatment based on the principle of high ratio of fat, low ratio of carbohydrate and normal ratio of other nutrients. The ketogenic diet as a treatment was first born in the 19th century when people observed that starvation could reduce the number of seizures, and later, after various experiments, eventually created a ketogenic diet with a high proportion of fat, a low proportion of carbohydrates and a normal proportion of other nutrients. It should be noted that the ketogenic diet does not apply to everyone, and patients need to be under the guidance of a doctor, otherwise they are prone to hypoglycemic symptoms.
