Can ultrasound reveal uterine polyps?

Most of the endometrial polyps can be seen through ultrasound, but a few, such as very small endometrial polyps, polyps look like endometrial proliferation, polyps in the uterine horn, polyps in the lower part of the uterine cavity, may not be seen through ultrasound. If the patient has incomplete menstruation, heavy menstruation, irregular bleeding, ultrasound cannot determine whether there are endometrial polyps, you can go to a regular hospital for hysteroscopy, which is the gold standard for diagnosing whether there are endometrial polyps. In some cases, it can be judged by tubal imaging, or CT or MRI, but they are not commonly used. Vaginal ultrasound and abdominal ultrasound are very routine tests to check whether there are endometrial polyps, which are simple and cheap, and painless. Although hysteroscopy is the gold standard for checking whether there are polyps, it is painful and expensive, so it is not usually used as a routine screening for endometrial polyps.
