What to do about right ureteral stone with hydronephrosis

The treatment of right ureteral stone with right hydronephrosis is to release the obstruction and protect the kidney function. However, the specific treatment method should be decided according to the size and location of the stone. If a stone with a diameter of >1 cm is present in the upper ureter, lithotripsy is preferred. Usually, for ureteral stones, regardless of their location in the upper or lower ureter, as long as the diameter is below 0.6 cm, conservative treatment is preferred, i.e., drinking more water and being more active, so as to achieve the purpose of self-discharge. For stones in the lower ureter, if the diameter is >6cm or if there is narrowing at the end of the ureter, endoscopic or ureteroscopic lithotripsy is usually chosen, and most of them can achieve good treatment results.
