Eye Bag Removal Methods

Usually there are primary and secondary factors that contribute to the formation of bags under the eyes, such as heredity, age, and late nights. Eye bags can be eliminated through daily maintenance, physical therapy and surgical treatment. 1. Primary eye bags: mainly due to heredity, hypertrophy of the orbicularis oculi muscle and excessive accumulation of fat in the orbital septum, which are usually seen in young people. Through surgery, small incisions can be made above the conjunctiva on the inner side of the lower eyelid, i.e., internal incision, to remove the excess fat of the orbital septum. 2. Secondary under-eye bags: Usually due to ageing, frequent late nights, etc., the skin relaxes and fat tends to accumulate under the skin, leading to the formation of under-eye bags. The surgery can be performed by skin incision at the lower eyelid margin, i.e. external approach, to remove the excess skin, remove the prolapsed and herniated orbital fat, and at the same time tighten the orbital septum and orbicularis oculi muscle. For the secondary eye bags caused by staying up late, overuse of eyes and other bad habits, the bags can be relieved to some extent by increasing the sleeping time, reducing the use of eyes and applying ice packs. In addition, there are also physical treatments such as laser and radiofrequency to remove under-eye bags and remove or dissolve the fat underneath the bags to achieve the purpose of treatment. Patients should eat a light diet after surgery, avoid spicy and stimulating foods, avoid prolonged eye use for 1 week after surgery, and keep the wound clean and dry to avoid infection.
