Codonopsis, Astragalus and Angelica have no contraindications for combining with traditional Chinese medicines, and can be used according to the doctor’s instructions, with the effect of tonifying qi and generating blood after combining.
Codonopsis returns to the spleen and lung meridians, has the effect of strengthening the spleen and lungs (strengthening the functions of the spleen and lungs), nourishing blood and promoting the production of fluids, and is used in the treatment of spleen and lung qi deficiency, poor appetite and tiredness, coughing and asthma, insufficient qi and blood, yellowish color (yellowish color with no luster), palpitations (accelerated heartbeat often accompanied by heartburn), shortness of breath, and thirst due to injury of fluids, and so on. Codonopsis should not be used with quinoa.
Astragalus enters the lung and spleen meridians and has the efficacy of benefiting the guards and consolidating the epidermis, inducing diuresis and eliminating edema, supporting toxins, and promoting the growth of muscles. It is used in the treatment of spontaneous sweating (involuntary sweating during the daytime, which is aggravated by the slightest movement), night sweating (sweating abnormally after falling asleep, but sweating stops after waking up), blood paralysis, edema, and ulceration that does not converge for a long period of time. The adverse effects of Astragalus are not known.
Astragalus should not be used when there is an excess of evil on the surface, stagnation of qi and dampness, accumulation of food (food that is poorly digested and accumulates in the stomach), yin deficiency and hyperactivity of yang (deficiency of yin fluid and hyperactivity of yang), carbuncle and gangrene (a kind of venomous sores, which is an acute suppurative disease that occurs on the surface of the body, the limbs, and the internal organs) is at its initial stage, or when there is still an abundance of heat and toxin after the ulceration.
Angelica sinensis belongs to the liver, heart and spleen meridians, with the effects of tonifying and activating blood, regulating menstruation and relieving pain (regulating menstruation and relieving menstrual pain), moistening the intestines and relaxing the bowels, and is used for blood deficiency and atrophy, dizziness and palpitations, irregular menstruation, bruises, carbuncle sores, and intestinal dryness and constipation. It is not recommended for people with dampness (too much dampness leading to fullness and discomfort in the spleen and stomach) and diarrhea.
The above Chinese medicines need to be recognized by a traditional Chinese medicine practitioner before taking, do not blindly self-medication.
