Precautions to take after hydrocele surgery

Pediatric hydronephrosis is one of the common diseases in pediatric urology. Many parents will be more anxious after their children have surgery, the following will be some general considerations after hydrocele surgery. 1, drink more water, timely urination. Many parents mistakenly believe that their children drink more water will aggravate hydrocele, in fact, on the contrary, children with hydrocele are prone to urinary tract infections, so children with hydrocele, whether before or after surgery should drink more water and urinate more to reduce the occurrence of urinary tract infections. In addition, most children with hydronephrosis will have ureteral stent tubes placed after surgery, so they should drink more water after surgery to reduce the occurrence of crystals and even stones in the attached wall. 2.Avoid strenuous activities. As mentioned above, most of the ureteral stent tubes will be left in place after hydrocele surgery, so try not to have strenuous activities such as jumping and hopping after surgery, so as not to rub the bladder and ureteral mucosa with the position of ureteral stent tube, or even to retract into the ureter or fall off by itself. If a small amount of light red hematuria appears after surgery, it can be corrected by drinking more water and reducing the amount of activity. 3. Infants and children with indwelling ureteral stent tubes should try to urinate in a head-high and foot-low position. When infants with ureteral stent tubes lie down to urinate, urine may flow back into the kidneys along the stent tubes, so try to urinate with head high and feet low to reduce reflux. 4.Some children may need oral low-dose antibiotics after surgery until the stent tube is removed. If you find that your child’s urine is cloudy and smells bad after discharge, it is best to consult your doctor and apply antibiotics to control the infection. 5. Return to the hospital on time to remove the stent tube. We have encountered some careless parents who forgot to return to the hospital to remove the stent tube on time, resulting in a large number of attached stones, making it difficult to remove the tube and even requiring another surgery. Therefore, it is important to remember the extraction time and return to the hospital for extraction on time.
