What to expect before and after the IVF procedure

In clinical work, patients often ask what precautions to take and what not to eat during IVF procedure. I know that infertility patients should be careful to stay away from harmful substances before, during and after IVF, such as insecticides, hair dyes, mosquitoes, mothballs, strong-smelling perfumes and rheumatic ointments containing musk. These chemicals can affect the quality of sperm and eggs. And affect the development of early embryo and the implantation. And pay attention to the living room environment, whether the formaldehyde in the furniture exceeds the standard. I recently came across a case that was really distressing. A patient had been infertile for many years and had a successful embryo transfer in our center. When she was more than 50 days pregnant, she was alone at home one day and asked a helper to sprinkle pesticides on her farm. Since the helper did not know how to prepare the pesticide, the pregnant woman went to the farm to spray the pesticide herself for half a day without any protection. That night there was vaginal bleeding, and three days later the fetus was found to be infertile by ultrasound. The fetus was found to be infertile on ultrasound three days later. Later, a cervical operation was performed and it was too late to regret. In early pregnancy, shock can also lead to miscarriage. One day, a colleague, unaware of her pregnancy, joked and attacked her from behind, causing excessive fright. In terms of diet, generally speaking, ordinary fruits and vegetables are not a big deal, but eat less horse feet and coix seeds after transplantation. They may have an effect on the embryo because of traditional Chinese medicine. When you have loose stools, avoid foods that can cause diarrhea, such as bananas, pears, milk, etc. Also, be careful not to take medication on your own. A few days ago in the clinic, I met a patient who had been on the week, and after taking Mafulon for one month, the ultrasound on the second day of menstruation showed that several follicles had developed, so I had no choice but to give up on the week and continue with Mafulon for 2 months to suppress ovulation. The patient was carefully asked if she was taking any ovulation-promoting drugs. The patient initially denied it, but then recalled that she had taken Tien Hei Pills and fish bladder gel at the same time as Mafulong in order to supplement her nutrition. Tian Xi Pills have a follicle-promoting effect, which is just the opposite of this stage of treatment. This is why there is such a twist. Other patients show poor ovarian response, or poor fertilization, or even no fertilization. In addition to congenital genetic factors, this is also related to the work and life environment in which the patient lives. In one patient, the eggs were not fertilized after egg retrieval. The patient had been involved in pesticide sales for more than 10 years. The patient has been engaged in the sale of pesticides for more than 10 years. She works more than 10 hours a day in a pesticide store and does not check her taste. She was asked to leave the environment and her ovaries were conditioned with Chinese herbs for almost a year, and then the transplant was finally successful. Another patient had a shoe store at home and worked daily in a shoe pile with strong odor. She had early spontaneous abortion in all three pregnancies. It was considered that the miscarriage might be related to the environment. As studies have reported that toluene and benzene from shoe manufacturing have an effect on reproduction. She was advised to leave the shoe store and was treated with herbal medicine for six months, and then she had a natural pregnancy. She had another natural pregnancy in October, and is now in her second trimester with a well-developed embryo. In addition, certain bad habits can lead to a decrease in male sperm quality and cause infertility. For example, prolonged poor mental state, depression and pessimism can lead to endocrine malfunction and cause infertility. Poor nutrition or partial diet, smoking and alcoholism, wearing tight pants for a long time, frequent hot baths, or frequent long-distance driving and overworked bicycling can all affect the quality and quantity of sperm and induce infertility.
