How many ways do we do gastroscopy and colonoscopy?

Currently, there are three methods of performing gastroscopy: plain electronic gastroscopy, nasogastroscopy and painless electronic gastroscopy. The latter two new methods are especially introduced now. Because the nasogastroscope is only 1/2 the thickness of the ordinary gastroscope, only the nasal cavity is not narrowed, and the nasogastroscope reaches the pharynx from the posterior nasal passage, while avoiding the repeated nausea and obvious discomfort caused by the body of the mirror touching the root of the tongue, the examination can be completed more easily. In contrast, painless gastroscopy is performed after intravenous input of sedative-hypnotic drugs, and the patient completes the examination and gastroscopic treatment during sleep or in a dream state; when the gastroscopic consultation and treatment is about to be finished, the drug administration is stopped, and the patient is awake, observed for a few moments, and can go home. If the gastroscopy and colonoscopy, consultation and treatment are completed simultaneously while the patient is asleep after the drug is administered; we also call it painless all-in-one gastroscopy. It should be noted that: no matter what kind of gastroscopy or colonoscopy is done, the patient or family members need to be informed about the indications and possible complications (the chance of occurrence is low), and patients aged >60 years need to have an electrocardiogram checked.
