How often is a maternity checkup

Maternity checkups are usually performed once every four weeks before 36 weeks of pregnancy and once a week after 36 weeks of pregnancy until delivery. Before the 36th week of pregnancy, labor checkups are conducted every four weeks, and after the 36th week of pregnancy, labor checkups need to be conducted once a week, focusing mainly on fetal heartbeat monitoring and obstetric ultrasound. After the obstetric ultrasound confirms intrauterine pregnancy, you can go to your domicile or community hospital of residence to set up a maternity file, generally from 11 weeks to 13 weeks of pregnancy for the first time, about every four weeks, if the examination process found that the pregnant woman or the fetus there are abnormalities, you should appropriately increase the frequency of maternity examination. After 36 weeks of pregnancy and up to the time of delivery, the checkups are usually every week. Near the due date, irregular checkups will be conducted according to the symptoms of the pregnant woman. If there is no sign of labor beyond 42 weeks of pregnancy, it is considered overdue labor, and after the doctor’s assessment, labor will need to be induced or cesarean section.
