Chai Hu Gui Zhi Tang has the effect of harmonizing Ying and Wei and conciliating Shaoyang, and can be used for nasal ringing, dryness and vomiting, fever and spontaneous sweating.
Chai Hu Gui Zhi Tang is from “The Treatise on Typhoid Fever”, which consists of Chai Hu, Gui Zhi, Ginseng, Scutellariae, Pinelliae, Licorice, Paeoniae Alba, Jujubae and Ginger. It can be used for fever and spontaneous sweating, wind-cold sensation, headache, headache, pain in the joints and slight malignant cold, or chills and fever, slight nausea, pain and fullness of chest, and a stringy or large floating pulse.
Chai Hu Gui Zhi Tang is a combination of Xiao Chai Hu Tang and Gui Zhi Tang. In this formula, Chai Hu penetrates the evil of Shaoyang and drains the qi; Gui Zhi passes through the meridians and channels and assists Wei Yang (yang qi on the surface of the muscle); Scutellaria helps Chai Hu to clear the evil heat of Shaoyang; Paeonia lactiflora benefits yin and astringes the camp; Ginger and Semen Xie harmonize and reduce the rebelliousness of the stomach; Jujubes and ginseng support positive qi; and Licorice harmonizes the various herbs.
