Spermoscopic high ligation, i.e. high ligation of the spermatic veins, is not reversible, so there are no measures that can be taken by patients who regret it. However, the procedure can improve the semen quality of patients with varicocele, increase the conception rate as well as alleviate the discomfort of scrotal swelling and other symptoms, which is beneficial to the male patients, and it is recommended that the patients should know more about the procedure and should not be anxious about it. Varicocele is a common disease in men, manifested by scrotal discomfort or infertility after marriage, and is often a cause of infertility in young people. The disease can be seen in 15% of adult men, 35% of infertile male patients and 81% of secondary infertility patients. Clinical studies have shown that varicocele can cause progressive testicular failure. Varicocele ligation is the most common procedure for treating varicocele, which improves semen quality in 60%-80% of patients, improves postoperative conception rates, and increases serum testosterone levels. The effect of varicocele on fertility is related to the course of the disease, so early surgery is advocated for patients whose fertility is affected to minimize the effect of varicocele on fertility. Therefore, the procedure is beneficial to the patient in many ways. If the patient’s expected results are not achieved, it is recommended that the patient undergoes regular follow-ups, actively seeks medical attention, and communicates with the attending physician. If the patient is not feeling well, he/she should consult the doctor for examination and early treatment.
