Appendicitis surgery is usually painless.
Appendicitis surgery is commonly used to treat diseases such as acute, suppurative and gangrenous appendicitis, and its point of opening is located in the right lower abdomen at the Mai’s point. The appendix is removed by means of lumbar or epidural anesthesia. Because of the anesthesia, there is usually no pain. However, as the anesthesia is gradually metabolized, pain may occur at the wound site, but it is generally tolerated.
After appendectomy, the patient should lie down for 6 hours and avoid movements that increase the pressure on the abdomen to avoid cracking the wound. Broad-spectrum antimicrobials as well as anti-anaerobic drugs such as norfloxacin and ornidazole should be used to prevent wound infections under the supervision of a physician.
If you encounter any of the above problems and have any questions, it is recommended that you consult a specialized clinician in a regular hospital.
